Epworth Medical Foundation

Epworth Medical Foundation LogoAll funds raised by Epworth Medical Foundation go directly to patients at Epworth Healthcare, in the form of important building upgrades, state-of-the-art equipment and technology, innovative research, world-class training and additional patient services.

Epworth HealthCare is one of the leading hospital groups in Australia for our world-class, state of the art patient facilities and the compassionate care provided by staff. Epworth is on track to become one of the biggest teaching hospitals in the nation, enabling our patients to benefit from new breakthroughs in medical research.

The doctors, nurses and researchers at Epworth are pioneers in improving the way we treat our patients, the care they receive, and ultimately the outcomes they enjoy. For example:

  • Epworth was the first hospital in Australia to introduce the minimally invasive robotic assisted surgery.
  • Epworth was the first private hospital in Australia to establish an intensive care facility.
  • Epworth surgeons were the first in the southern hemisphere to use image guided radiation therapy.
  • Epworth surgeons were the first in Victoria to provide open-heart surgery.
  • Epworth medical researchers are working on projects that will provide our future patients with early access to new treatments, preventions and even cures to some of the nation’s most deadly diseases.

This is possible directly because of the generosity of our donors.

Epworth is a private, not-for-profit organisation. It receives very limited funding from government. Instead, it relies on funds raised by Epworth Medical Foundation to continue to provide patients with the best possible facilities, equipment, surgical expertise and access to research.
